Last October, Carrefour launched “Mission zéro plastique” – an online consultation process. Its purpose was to get suggestions and comments from consumers on ways to reduce the use of plastics in our stores. By its conclusion, the website had received more than 5000 contributions and 11,000 votes. A really enthusiastic response which has strengthened our resolve to phase out plastics – a target that we have set ourselves to both safeguard our customers' health and protect the planet.
The public consultation process launched online six months ago to imagine a plastic-free future in our stores got more than 5000 contributions. Ten promising suggestions have been chosen and will soon be tested as part of the second phase of "Mission zéro plastique”.
Following this consultation, the next phase of “Mission zéro plastique” will be to select the Carrefour stores which will get to implement the ten selected projects. The people behind them will be contacted so they can help develop the tests with our teams, and with our customers, of course, with whom we will assess the success and utility of these new experiments. Ending plastic is a challenge to which we are all committed.
