Poland Food Banks
The European Federation of Food Banks is present in 10 EU countries, with over 151 delegations.
In Poland, the first food bank opened in Warsaw in 1992. Its mission: to reduce malnutrition and avoid waste. In 1999, over 118,396 tonnes of foodstuffs were distributed. 212 million euros were distributed to 2,200,000 beneficiaries via the action of 13 200 different associations. In Poland, around 6 million people suffer from malnutrition.
