One Carrefour employees representative

M SC

Martine Saint-Cricq

54 years old

After studying photography and working several years as a designer in an engineering firm, Martine Saint Cricq joined the appliances department of the Carrefour hypermarket in Labège (Toulouse region) when it opened in 1983.
Her humanism and commitment to justice soon led her to take action in defense of employee rights. Elected to the Labège store’s works committee in 1991, she became its secretary in 1992, then secretary of the Sogara central works committee in 1995.
She became a member of Carrefour’s European committee in 1996. In 2004, her trade union named her central union representative for Sogara establishments. She joined the Carrefour Group committee the following year.
In 2008, she was appointed by the French union federation Force Ouvrière to sit on the women’s committee of the Union Network International (UNI).
She also conducted successful negotiations with Carrefour management on behalf of Force Ouvrière concerning the establishment of an agreement for sales staff and another agreement on workplace equality.
She is known especially for her constant efforts to help the weakest and most disadvantaged. Her candidacy to sit on the board of the Carrefour International Foundation is therefore the logical continuation of all her noteworthy commitments, especially as all the trade unions have agreed to have her represent the employees.
