Brazil : Three elected associations will be helped
In Brazil, the results of the program " Jovens em Transformação " were
returned at the beginning of July.
The three elected projects which will get a financial support on behalf of the Carrefour International Foundation, are the following ones:
=> "Training to learn how to install solar panels"
This project is led by the "Instituto Joazeiro" and consists in training young unemployed to bring them back on the job market, in the fields of renewable energies.
The use of solar energy thanks to photovoltaic panels producing some electricity has a big potential to satisfy the increasing demand of electricity in the state of Ceará, particularly for lighting housing and schools.
The aim of this partnership consists of the training of 60 young people by the end of one year and by the implementation of a structured training center.
Location: Fortaleza ( Ceará)
=> "Building opportunities"
This project is led by the association " Ação Moradia " and aims at preparing young mothers to build their own house while using ecological materials (" green bricks ").
The young mothers receive a training to produce bricks and build their future house. A technical and financial support is given. During the training moments, the association welcomes the children of these vulnerable women and proposes them educational, entertaining and sports activities.
The project will try to create a real link between all the individuals who constitute the community.
The aims of this partnership consist of the multiplication by 5 of the project to target up to 60 young mothers and the production of 60 000 bricks a month.
=> "Initiation to work"
This project is led by the Association " Casa de Passagem " and aims at proposing vocational trainings leading to a qualification for young people.
The targeted young people live in Santo Amaro, one of the poorest districts of Recife. Unemployment, violence, drug dealing are the reflection of daily life.
The professional qualifications will concern marketing, sale, entrepreneurship and digital inclusion.
Moreover, courses on the environmental responsibility are also envisaged, such as mathematics and Portuguese lessons.
The aim of this partnership consists of increasing the number of young beneficiaries, from 300 to 360.
