Since July 1995, the RECICLAR NGO, Instituto de Reciclagem do Adolescente, has developed a professional training programme for young people living in a favela of the western district of Sao Paulo: Favela de Jaguaré. The NGO gives priority to productive activities and education to develop the personal and social abilities of teenagers.
