China : Emergency help following floods

Carrefour supports the action of the Red Cross Society of China in response to the severe floods.

For two weeks, the Chinese provinces of Gansu and Sichuan have been affected by severe flooding and mudslides, causing the deaths of over a thousand people. According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, at least 45,000 people were also evacuated.

In response to the disaster, Carrefour China and Carrefour Foundation are supporting the work of the Red Cross Society of China. With a 1M RMB (about € 115,000) donation from Carrefour Foundation, the NGO will be able to strengthen relief and reconstruction. Precisely, the donation will be used for the purchase of vehicles and equipment to carry out relief work.
