Greenweez acquires Planeta Huerto in Spain

Greenweez, Europe's leading online distributor of organic products, has just acquired Planeta Huerto as part of its growth strategy.

Planeta Huerto is a company in Alicante, Spain, that was created at the end of 2011 by brothers Pablo and Alfonso Sanchez. In seven years, it has established itself as the undisputed leader in Spain and Portugal in online sales of organic, healthy and sustainable products.

Planeta Huerto currently has in excess of 250,000 customers and more than 35,000 products classified into a few main categories: the organic supermarket and products that customers can use to grow produce themselves at home. The company is well known for the excellence of its service, as well as the high-quality advice and content that it delivers to its customers, so they can adopt healthier and environmentally-friendly lifestyles.

Planeta Huerto will retain its brand name and its teams, and the Sanchez brothers will continue to run the company within the framework of a joint project with Greenweez so that both companies can continue to enjoy strong growth and keep improving their services by taking reciprocal advantage of each other's expertise and knowledge.

The agreement was signed on 28 September 2018, and both parties decided not to reveal the amount.
