Thursday, 4 March, the Carrefour Group opens Atacadao: its first cash-and-carry wholesale store in Bogota. Born in Brazil, Atacadao, which means “wholesale” in Portuguese, is a new format aimed at supplying small and medium-sized Colombian shopkeepers.
Colombia is the first country to replicate the Brazilian model, which will then be reproduced in other countries where the Carrefour group operates.” This store covers an area of 18,000 sq m, including a 6,500 sq m sales surface and 6,500 sq m of warehousing and cold storage.
