Thierry GARNIER, 45, a French national, began his career at the Ministry of Industry in 1991, then served as adviser to European Affairs Minister Michel Barnier in 1996-97. He joined Promodès in 1997. After occupying several operational management functions within Carrefour Hypermarkets France, he was appointed Executive Director of Supermarkets France in 2003. In January 2008, Thierry Garnier was named a member of the Management Board and Managing Director International (ex Europe), and was then appointed as Executive Director in charge of South East Asia, European countries, India and International Partnerships. In 2010, Thierry Garnier was appointed member of the Executive Board of the Carrefour Group as Executive Director Growth markets. He has a degree from France’s Ecole Polytechnique and is a chief engineer of « Corps des Mines ».
Thierry GARNIER, currently Executive Director Growth Markets, is appointed Executive Director, China and Taiwan. This appointment will take effect in April 2012, after a transition period starting January 2012.
