Carrefour India announces the opening in Jaipur of a second Cash & Carry store under the name « Carrefour Wholesale Cash&Carry », following a first opening in New Delhi in December 2010.

With a sales area of 5,650 m2, this new store is located north of Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan State. It will offer more than 10,000 SKUs in food and non-food to professional businesses, institutions, restaurants and local retailers.
This second opening which demonstrates Carrefour’s interest in India, is fully in line with the group’s strategy to develop in major emerging markets which offer a high potential.

Jean-Noël Bironneau, Carrefour India Executive Director, declared that: “We are very pleased with the results from our first Cash & Carry store. This second opening in Jaipur represents the next step of Carrefour’s implantation in the Indian market, which holds important growth opportunity. As well as our intension to expand in the cash & carry segment, we maintain our ambition to develop in other formats”.
