Carrefour ranked 2nd in Interbrand's list of "Europe's Top Performing Retail Brands 2008"

At the World Retail Congress currently taking place in Barcelona, Interbrand  today released its rankings for Europe's top performing retail brands. Carrefour was listed second overall, and placed top of mass food retailing.

 "Seeing the Carrefour brand recognized as one of the best performing retail brands in Europe is really satisfying to the Carrefour Group.

After all the initiatives launched in 2005 to position the brand at the heart of our customer relations and our sales model, it is now fulfilling the role of a genuine brand, acknowledged for its quality, commitments and accessibility.

 By placing it second, the Interbrand ranking has confirmed the potential and value of our brand. It was only recently that we began to capitalize on its strength and we are so obviously on the right track that we do not intend to stop now!

I would like to take advantage of this achievement to pay tribute to all the members of the Carrefour group throughout the world who work every day to provide satisfaction to our customers," said José Luis Duran, Chairman of the Carrefour Group Management Board.
